Ariel Gail

Professor Gail S. Goodman teaches psychology at the University of California Davis. She also serves as the Director of the Center for Public Policy Research. Her name is often credited for starting the modern science-based study of children's witness memory as well as child victimes as witness in lawful situations. Professor Goodman is a prolific writer who has received many awards and grants. She has advised a variety of government agencies and governments around the globe on policies and studies pertaining to child victims by the legal system. She works as a Consultant for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center (formerly known as Multidisciplinary Interview Center - of Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She was a part of numerous professional organizations, including the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. (Divisions Experimental Psychology Developmental Psychology Society for Child and Family Policies and Practice American Psychology Law Society Psychology of Women and Traumatic Stress 56) Professor Goodman also belongs to the Psychonomics Society as well as the American Professional Society for the Abuse of Children and International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She was director of 3 divisions (Division Society for Policy and Child Development and Practice Division, American Psychology-Law Society as well as Division Developmental Psychology) and one section (Child Maltreatment) of the American Psychological Association.
